Privacy Policy

Meshii is a messaging and calling service. Your Meshii access is connected to Gao ID. Meshii does not create a separate email-and-password identity for you.

Gao ID is based on a wallet you create and control. Meshii does not own, store, or have access to your private key or recovery phrase, and Meshii cannot recover them for you.

We process the following information only where it is relevant to the features you use:

• Your Gao ID, public wallet address, authentication proofs, and session information.
• Profile information you choose to provide, such as your display name, handle, avatar, and other profile details.
• Your Meshii connections, invitations, blocks, account preferences, and registered-device information.
• Encrypted messages, media, delivery information, and synchronization information needed to transmit and deliver communications.
• Technical information needed to connect and operate voice or video calls.
• Notification tokens and notification preferences when notifications are enabled.
• Location information only when you choose to use a location-based feature and grant the required permission.
• Basic device, browser, operating-system, application-version, diagnostic, security, and abuse-prevention information.
• Information you provide when you contact support, privacy, legal, or security teams.

We use information to:

• Authenticate your Gao ID and maintain your sessions.
• Provide and synchronize your profile, devices, connections, and preferences.
• Transmit and deliver messages, media, calls, and notifications.
• Provide location-based features you choose to use.
• Protect Meshii and its users from fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and security threats.
• Diagnose failures, maintain reliability, and improve the service.
• Respond to support, privacy, legal, and security requests.
• Comply with applicable law and enforce the Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other companies' applications or websites for advertising.

Meshii uses end-to-end encryption for message content. This means message content is intended to be readable by you and the intended recipients, not by Meshii. Meshii may still process limited technical information needed to route, deliver, synchronize, secure, and troubleshoot communications.

Your wallet exists independently of Meshii. Your private key and recovery phrase remain under your control.

Some wallet activity may be recorded on a public blockchain. Public blockchain records are outside Meshii's control and generally cannot be changed or erased by Meshii.

Depending on where you live and the information involved, we process information:

• To provide Meshii and perform our agreement with you.
• With your consent, such as when you grant notification, microphone, camera, or location permission.
• For legitimate interests such as security, abuse prevention, service reliability, and support, where those interests do not override your rights.
• To comply with legal obligations or respond to valid legal processes.

You may withdraw consent through Meshii or your device settings where the processing depends on consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

Information may be shared:

• With people you choose to communicate or share information with.
• With service providers processing information on our behalf and only as needed to provide, secure, or support Meshii.
• When required by applicable law, a valid legal process, or an enforceable government request.
• When reasonably necessary to protect users, prevent serious harm, investigate abuse, or protect the rights and security of Meshii and others.
• As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or transfer of the service, subject to appropriate protections.

Service providers are not permitted to use information received from Meshii for their own unrelated purposes.

We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Meshii, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

Retention depends on the type of information and why it is needed. Account and profile information may be kept while the account remains active. Security, diagnostic, transaction, and support records may be kept for a reasonable period after they are created or after an account is deleted when needed for security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or fraud prevention.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it, de-identify it, or allow it to expire through normal backup and retention cycles.

Messages or media already delivered to another person may remain on that person's device or in copies they created. Public blockchain records are not controlled by Meshii and cannot be deleted by Meshii.

Meshii may process information in countries other than the country where you live. Data-protection laws in those countries may differ from local laws.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for an international transfer, we use an appropriate legal mechanism and reasonable contractual, technical, or organizational protections.

You can:

• Update or remove profile information you added.
• Manage registered devices and active sessions.
• Manage notification and location permissions through Meshii or your device settings.
• Block or report users where those controls are available.
• Sign out, remove an account from one device, or request account deletion.
• Contact us with a privacy question or request.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, receive a copy of, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal information. You may also have the right to withdraw consent and complain to a data-protection authority.

Some rights are subject to legal exceptions. We may need to verify that you control the relevant Gao ID before completing a request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Meshii and must meet any higher minimum age required by the laws where you live.

Meshii is not directed to children below the applicable minimum age. If we learn that we processed personal information from a child who was not permitted to use Meshii, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration.

No system or method of transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your devices, Gao ID access, wallet, private key, recovery phrase, and any local device authentication.

We may update this Privacy Policy when Meshii, applicable law, or our information practices change.

If a change is material, we will update the effective date and provide additional notice where appropriate.
